Project LifeLens is a community-driven initiative focused on raising awareness about the importance of Quality of Life (QOL) and inspiring both individual and collective efforts to improve it globally. The project aims to change how people perceive and experience life by emphasizing the critical role of well-being, sustainability, and conscious living. Through education, dialogue, and engagement, Project LifeLens strives to make the concept of Quality of Life not just a personal goal but a global movement for a better, more equitable world.
At its core, Project LifeLens is about seeing life through a clearer lens—one that focuses on the multifaceted nature of human well-being. Quality of Life isn't just about physical health or economic success; it's about mental and emotional well-being, environmental sustainability, access to education and healthcare, and the relationships that connect us to our communities and the world.
Project LifeLens seeks to inspire individuals, communities, and organizations to explore and improve the factors that shape these elements of life.
Hello!
My name is Ahad Ali, and I am currently a Grade 8 student at NLCS Dubai, where I am part of the International Baccalaureate (IB) program and involved in the Community Project (CP). I’ve always been passionate about exploring ways we can live healthier, happier lives, and that’s what inspired me to create Project LifeLens.
This project gives me the opportunity to not only raise awareness about quality of life but also to make a meaningful impact through community engagement.
I hope to inspire others to think about their well-being and take steps to improve it in both personal and collective ways.
Project LifeLens is part of the Community Project (CP) requirement within the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP). But what do these terms mean?
International Baccalaureate (IB):
The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a global educational program designed to develop students’ critical thinking, creativity, and responsibility. It encourages students to think about global issues, make informed decisions, and take positive actions in their communities. The IB program focuses on developing well-rounded individuals who are prepared for the challenges of the world.
Community Project (CP):
The Community Project (CP) is an integral part of the IB MYP, where students are required to select an issue or topic they are passionate about and take meaningful action within their community. The project involves research, planning, and reflection, and aims to make a positive impact while helping students develop skills such as communication, collaboration, and problem-solving.
Through Project LifeLens, my goal is to raise awareness about quality of life standards—something that affects everyone, everywhere. Through this project, I’m applying the skills and values I’ve learned in the IB MYP to take action and make a real difference.
